Back to Church Sunday is a powerful, nationwide movement that started in 2009 with a simple but urgent purpose: to call the Church back to its mission and to extend an open invitation to those who’ve never attended or have been away.
It’s one Sunday—always the third Sunday in September—set aside for churches to rally together, welcome their communities, and remind people that hope is found in Jesus and in a church family that cares. This year, the event is on September 20th.
This isn’t just another Sunday. It’s an opportunity to reintroduce our church to our community, inspire each and every one of us to invite friends and neighbors, and create a warm, Bible-based environment where visitors feel genuinely welcomed and seen.
Since it began, over 4 million believers across more than 40,000 churches have taken part—and the movement keeps growing. In today’s world, where so many are looking for peace, purpose, and a place to belong, our church can be the difference.
Let's be part of something bigger. Mark your calendar, bring a neighbor, a friend, family, a co-worker, or anyone that doesn't have a home church and join thousands of other Christians this September for National Back to Church Sunday. Let’s remind our community what church is really all about.
